Gerri

Teacher & Head of the School

Please call me Gerri. I grew up in Brooklyn, New York but I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I completed university at S.U.N.Y New Paltz and have since worked in many different industries where I acquired a variety of skill sets. Always passionate about education, it was my dream to come to Japan and teach English. I previously taught at two elementary schools in Shibuya and am excited to be part of the LTH family. I was an active volunteer member at an Animal Shelter and soup kitchen back in NY before I moved to Japan.    I love traveling, running, hiking, cooking, and arts and craft. I am looking forward to working with you and your little ones!!

Yurie

Teacher & Co-founder

Hi I’m Yurie. I’m from Aichi Prefecture. I spent 3 years of my childhood in Thailand. It was my dream to be a preschool teacher and the dream led  me to study early childhood education in Japan. During my  university life, I became interested to continue my education in a foreign country. Therefore,  I moved to Canada to learn more about the Reggio-Emilia Approach. After finishing school, I took an Early Childhood Educator course and worked at a daycare in Vancouver . Since I returned to Japan,  I worked in an International school based on the Reggio-Emilia approach for 5 years. I love traveling, camping, cooking, planting, crafts, flowers, animals and spending time with my family. But mostly I love working with children. I’m looking forward to exploring and discovering with your children and have great and memorable times together. See you at school!

Abu

Teacher & Co-founder

Hola! I grew up with 8 siblings in Peru, where I attended an American school and attended university in the USA. Afterward, I worked as a project developer, and later as an English teacher to new immigrants – mostly children with difficulties learning the new language. After moving to Japan I worked in Japanese and international preschools in Tokyo and Yokohama . Love sports being badminton my favorite,  I climbed Mount Fuji several times and ran marathons as well. Walking  streets is my hobby.  Each day at school is a different day full of new discoveries, experiences and challenges for a child. Learning while having fun exploring is the best way to stimulate their imagination and growth.

Evelyn

Teacher

HELLO I’m Evelyn. I was born in a hot and humid country called Singapore. I moved to Japan (Yokohama) in October 2020. I have two lovely kids who are currently attending kindergarten. During my free time, I love cooking and exploring new recipes, and I also love listening to music.                                                   As a creative and energetic individual, I enjoy arranging fun activities and overseeing the children’s development. Working with children can sometimes be challenging, but it’s always very fulfilling for me to see a child grow up healthily in an environment full of love and affection.                                                 My favorite advice is: have FUN while learning. I can’t wait to build great relationships and memorable times with you and your children.

Hello! I was born in Philippines. I have 2 kids and have been living in and out of Japan and USA since 2001.
I have taught English Language for 8 years before my family and I moved in Portland, Oregon. The pandemic in 2020 gave us the reason to go back Japan for good.
Joining LTH gave me the opportunity to continue my passion for teaching, love being around the kids and interacting with them. I’m looking forward to share my knowledge and educational experiences in a creative and fun way of learning to your kids.
