Little Treehouse Principal

 Please call me Gerri. I grew up in Brooklyn, New York but I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I completed university at S.U.N.Y New Paltz and have since worked in many different industries where I acquired a variety of skill sets. Always passionate about education, it was my dream to come to Japan and teach English.  I previously taught at two elementary schools in Shibuya and am excited to be part of the LTH family. I was an active volunteer member at an Animal Shelter and soup kitchen back in NY before I moved to Japan. I love traveling, running, hiking, cooking, and arts and craft. I am looking forward to working with you and your little ones!!

  Hi I’m Yurie. I’m from Aichi Prefecture. I spent 3 years of my childhood in Thailand. It was my dream to be a preschool teacher and the dream led  me to study early childhood education in Japan. During my university life, I became interested to continue my education in a foreign country. Therefore,  I moved to Canada to learn more about the Reggio-Emilia Approach. After finishing school, I took an Early Childhood Educator course and worked at a daycare in Vancouver . Since I returned to Japan, I worked in an International school based on the Reggio-Emilia approach for 5 years. I love traveling, camping, cooking, planting, crafts, flowers, animals and spending time with my family. But mostly I love working with children. I’m looking forward to exploring and discovering with your children and have great and memorable times together. See you at school!

¡Hola! I grew up with eight siblings in Peru. Later, in Michigan, I worked as a project developer, and I also volunteered as an English teacher for new immigrants—mostly children who were having difficulty learning the language. After moving to Japan, I worked in both Japanese and international preschools in Tokyo and Yokohama. I love sports, with badminton being my favorite, and I have also climbed Mount Fuji several times and run marathons. Walking the streets is my hobby.
Each day at school is different, full of new discoveries, experiences, and challenges for a child. Learning while having fun and exploring is the best way to stimulate their imagination and growth.

  Hi, I am Ericka. I’m from the Philippines. I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and doing some arts and crafts. I am an only child, that’s why I developed the love of children I studied Early Childhood Education and had 4 years of teaching experience in the Philippines. Then I moved to China to teach English. The pandemic came, and I had an opportunity to teach in Japan. Now I am enjoying my time and passion working at LTH. I am looking forward to meeting you and spending time with you and your children. Let’s learn in a fun and meaningful way!

Hello! I’m Mia. I am from California, but my nationality is Mexican. I moved to Japan in 2022 to attend Temple University where I majored in Psychology and got a minor in Japanese. I worked part-time as an English teacher for 1 year and a private English tutor for 2 years. I also come from a family of teachers; back home, my mother and older sister are also teachers. My mother works with children with behavioral issues which led me to study psychology. Because I was surrounded by this kind of environment growing up, I learned to love taking care of children and teaching them new things about the world. I love the outdoors and doing activites like running, swimming, and hiking. I would like to learn more about the LTH children and share my experiences with them as well. I hope we can make fun memories together that will last a lifetime!

  Hello! My name is Melissa Boulanger, and I am an English teacher from Canada. I am excited to be working in early childhood education and to be part of a community where children are encouraged to learn, explore, and grow. I especially love being a part of Little Treehouse where we place great emphasis on love, compassion, and respect, and aim to create a warm, home away from home environment for children.

Hi, I’m Hiroyo from Yokohama. After graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education, I taught at a kindergarten for six years. My teaching journey also includes experience at a preschool, an international school, and a kindergarten in New York, alongside working as an office professional and teaching piano. 
As an avid traveler and scuba diver who has explored the US and Europe, I have seen firsthand how English opens doors and enriches lives. I am thrilled to help children naturally acquire English at LTH to broaden their future choices.
Having also studied Eurhythmics and music therapy, I look forward to sharing the joy of music with the children, learning alongside them, and growing together!

  I’m Ayaka. I was born in Aichi prefecture and graduated from a childcare school in Aichi. After graduating, I  moved to Kanagawa to work at a nature-based nursery in Yokohama. In Japan,  I have worked in both nature-based and family-style nurseries.
  Through my experiences of travelling abroad and studying languages, I developed an interest not only in Japanese-style childcare, but also in international childcare. This passion eventually led me to join LTH.
  I really love working with children every day and I also enjoy art and music. I look forward to meeting you and your child soon.
